Mark Haney is the Founder and CEO of Save Watt Technologies, where he leads the deployment of AI-driven optimization solutions that reduce energy consumption in commercial buildings and central plants. Save Watt works with advanced AI platforms, including technology from Facil.Ai, to deliver measurable energy savings without capital investment for building owners.
He brings more than 30 years of experience translating advanced engineering into practical, real-world solutions. Earlier in his career, Mark spent nearly two decades at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) as a research engineer. His work in structural optimization and thermal protection systems earned him the Air Force's highest civilian research honor, the Harold Brown Award.
Before launching Save Watt, Mark served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Tech Friends, Inc., where he helped grow the company tenfold in the correctional technology market. During that time, he helped develop tamper-resistant electronics and patented secure charging systems, and he is a named inventor on multiple U.S. patents.
Mark's technical foundation is in mechanical engineering. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Wright State University, an MS in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Arkansas State University, where he graduated magna cum laude.
